 The Tri-County United Way will be celebrating 85 years of service to those in need in 2008.  What is the United Way, and why should you be involved?

 We’re part of a world-wide effort to ensure the financial viability and stability of much-needed local organizations.  We provide, through staff, our Board of Directors and the many volunteers who serve on our committees, a voice and a face of those in need in our area.  Our member agencies, all of whom give back to the community in so many important ways, work with us to ensure that we’re able to provide needed money and services to those deserving people in need of help.

 We’d urge you to peruse this web site, to become more familiar with our member agencies and their unique and individual services to the community. Please click on the left hand side of our web site, at the funded agencies line, to link to information about every agency.  You can also click on the area map line, which will highlight for you our local communities, and the services provided in the individual towns and villages by our agencies.

 By supporting the Tri-County United Way, you enable us to help to fund these deserving groups.  You’ll note that so many components of life as we know it here are represented through our agencies, including youth; seniors; and those in crisis.  Your gift to the United Way may be made on-line, through this web site, or through payroll deductions or individual gifts.  Through your gift to the Tri-County United Way, you’ll be giving to a myriad of local groups who are on the front lines of interaction with those in need.  A committee of volunteers from the United Way meet at the conclusion of each year’s campaign, to interact with the agencies themselves and to help us to ensure allocations to each agency to meet their needs.

 Our web site also has a calendar component, which shows upcoming meetings, events of our agencies, and Tri-County United Way special events. We serve the communities of Warren, Washington, and Northern Saratoga counties.
