The Association for the Hearing Impaired, Inc., serving the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing persons, their families, friends and co-workers in Warren, Washington and Saratoga Counties and beyond for the past twenty-five years recently announced its schedule of sign language classes. All classes will be held at the AFTHI’s SAIL Center site, 71 Glenwood Avenue in Queensbury.

American Sign Language Level I for Beginners and Refreshers class (10-weeks) will be held on Mondays from 6:30 - 8:00 PM beginning March 1^st.

American Sign Language Level II class (10-weeks) will be held on Wednesday’s from 6:30 - 8:00 PM beginning March 3^rd.

Marcie Johnson will be the Instructor for both classes. The class fee for either class is $40.00 and the book "A Basic Course in ASL" by Humphries, Padden & O’Rourke fee is $36.95.

The "Fabulous Friends with Flying Fingers" sign language troupe is open to all children ages 7-12 years old that are willing to learn a variety of songs in sign language to perform at a variety of events throughout the Tri-County Region. The goal of the troupe is to learn sign language and promote deaf culture awareness within the community. An exciting performance schedule is currently being finalized.

Connie Fuller and Sandra Clark will be the Instructors. The 10-week class will be held on Tuesday’s from 5:30 - 6:30 PM beginning March 2^nd. The class fee is $50.00 for the first child; which includes the purchase of a shirt with a logo; second child from the same family is $40.00.

The next Sign Language class (8-weeks) for Home Schooled Children and Youth from throughout the Tri-County Region will be held on Wednesday’s beginning February 24^th.

The Instructor will be Connie Wilder. The class fee will be $25.00 per child/youth. Younger children will attend class from 12:15 - 12:45 and older children/youth from 12:45 - 1:30 PM. The class curriculum and the cost of the book will soon be announced.
